Mid 70's Thomson....thats all I know Any idea Graham...Glennevis maybe? Its in a storage place but will be at my house in a week or two. It seems solid from outside and is in quite good condition body wise. Its lighting panel has come away but is still ok to refit. I havent been able to see inside as he hasnt got a key but it would have been collected for scrap soon if I didnt get it so I had to I am only planning on sorting it enough to sell on and give it another chance I dont need it but cant let it get scrapped without at least trying to save it.

Hmm!!! Had a look through the brochures and it could be a 77! unfortunately that is a brochure I do not yet have, any one got one they want to give me, sell me, exchange for other original Thomson literature that is available as I have some duplicates!
Doesn't mean I am giving in on this one Mick but will have a look through other stuff and see what I can find out!
Incidently I have many of the Thomson wiring diagrams which I need to sort through to, these cover the 12n and s connections in the vans which are all originals, will try and get all the stuff listed and priced, need to raise some cash to keep buying other info as it comes available and of course pay for the website space and urls again! The key should be easy enough to replace, most have similar numbers and many use the same ones! Not great security wise but handy for folks like us that find the odd derelict with no keys. Pictures of the inside when you get in would of course be very advantageous!

I will get more info and photos as soon as I can. I think its a 4 berth with bunks opposite the door due to the side... Or maybe its a 2 birth at the front and the kitchen opposite the door... Strange toilet window setup...on the side I have a selection of keys so should be able to wiggle one about in the lock to open it and then get a key.

From search the photos on the main website I think it is a 75-77 Glennevis. Kitchen to the left of the door and bunks opposite. Wardrobe between the bunk and front double bed. The side toilet window seems to have been a short lived idea..I can see why too!
Im hoping to get it very soon.

This is what I thought as well, however, the 1975 model had the same window arrangement but the new rear lighting panel was green. Yes it looks like the glennevis layout although it would be interesting to see if it is the Glennevis or the Glennevis J, the export model. The main difference being the interior on the J had a two double bed arrangement with the rear one becoming the dining area by day. An interesting use of the space. The front box was also the type that had a cowling over the A-frame with the box sat on top of it rather than the one peice moulding in your picture which appears first in the 76 model. In 1976 it seems the side window went back to the more preferable, from my point of view, rear twin window arrangement. The 1978 is the same in layout and front locker as the 76 leaving me with the 77 as a query till I can find, beg, borrow or buy a 77 brochure. There is a possibility of course that it is the 75 model but one of the last and had the black 76 rear light board and front lockers as production changed to the 76 model which is of course quite likely as the brochure usually are from October/November of the previous year, the 76 one being first seen in November 75. It all makes for an interesting day spent peering at brochures and pictures and some guess work but then that is how the site came into being and what keeps me investigating, when able, to find out more. Hopefully when you get the van back a more thorough look will reveal some extra charactaristice that will help get to the bottom of this one. 1976 was also the year the budget models, River and Clan where introduced. The Clan appears in the 1978 brochure but not the River seiries. On the Timeline This has the River series as only for 1976 and the Clan series from 76-78. I have not seen a River series van and have had pictures sent of two of the Clan vans, one of which was sold on eBay a year or two ago, it was in great nick and a very well cared for one that sold well staying in Scotland around the Stirling area. Hopefully this helps in some way to identify it and also gives you my thought process on it as well! Hope you and the family are all well and the missus isn't too annoyed at you having two vans again lol!

Sounds like you have had an interesting time Graham I have been to do a few bits on it today, got it unlocked and was right about the layout so thinking it is a Glennevis. I cant find the ID plate on it so we are no close to putting an accurate date on it...not that it matters really Its in fairly good condition inside, just a bit of sagging in the roof. The sky light has blown away at some time but must be recent as its not that damp inside. The cushions are a bit worn at the front. Managed to free the seized hitch and pulled it out of the holes it made from sitting for a while. Screwed the rear panel back on enough to bring it home soon. The side stripe and window rain deflectors have been painted, they are the sandy colour underneath.

Have to agree the layout is screaming Glennevis, doesn't look too bad in the pictures, will have a look at the colour chart and see if that helps. what would you say the original colour of the detail stripe down the sides was? Should help with ID.
Great pictures and glad to see that it is looking movable now. It seems there are more down your way in fields than up here, then again I don't get out much, with the continued high costs of fuel and living Joan and I are struggling a bit, like so many others in the UK. Really not looking forward to the budget! )-:

The side colour is the same as this under the paint... The body is tidy, not dented and is solid, all the corner handles are solid with no movement. Just the roof inside which has suffered a bit. They do seem plentiful around here....

Got it home today, and started cleaning it up.... Jet wash out and hot soapy water should see it being a bit cleaner....

Certainly is looking a lot better after a good wash, have you tried Fenwicks on it, the FS-1 Bike Cleaner Concentrate is absolutely brilliant on the outside, especially if it has been left a long time in a field. For the cleaner vans then the Caravan Cleaner rinsed off with Bobby Dazzler does a brilliant job, I wouldn't be without Fenwick's products in the caravan, they are all designed specifically for the job and are all biodegradable. The even better news is that with the forthcoming hose pipe bans thE Bobby DazzlEr does not require vast amounts of water, a gallon in a sprayer will cover most of the van and as it drys with a lovely shine doesn't need to be dryed off or waxed as between the cleaner and the Dazzler they do the job too! There are also a whole range of products for the interiors, as well as toilet liquids and a window scratch remover, which incidentally is great on damaged cd and DVD,s! I know I am going on a bit but too me Fenwicks is a product that is to caravanning as WD40 is to mechanics! lol

I have used Fenwicks before yes...they are good products, especially the black mark/streak remover. The exterior is in very good condition, I replaced the broken door handle today and had a look at the damp patch in the roof by the sky light. Not great but repairable in situ. A better photo of the back end.

Its confirmed, it is a Glennevis. I sanded the paint back where the name should have been and found it.

Looking really good and dent free from the pictures, don't forget to get the replacement decals from M&I Marine, that would make a big difference! Just thinking might be willing to swap it for my 81 Glennevis which needs some repairs, I know you will enjoy the challange, lol!
